King 5 Traffic Reporter Tracy Taylor meeting our very own Safety Patrol Advisor Terry Addison. Taylor came to Firgrove on December 17th and spoke with our students in grades 4-6 about Traffic Safety and career path in Communications via radio or television. The students were engaged and expressed disappointment when the assembly ended. Taylor said she'll wear her Honorary Firgrove Safety Patrol t-shirt during her next broadcast on Monday, December 20th around 6:30 AM.

The video below is a short clip of the work of our World Music Ensemble that meets every Tuesday and Thursday with Jim. The piece is based on a traditional dance called "Yandaki" or "Yandaki-Makru," which is performed at celebrations in Guinea, West Africa. Jim's disclaimer on the video states, "Sorry about the lousy camera placement, but it is the best recording we have so far"---spoken like a true perfectionist! :-) Char and I don't know what he's talking about in his disclaimer because we enjoyed watching it. He also promised to have more in the future to share with staff. Jim has also committed to have the group perform again during our district's Annual Honoring Cultures Diversity Celebration at the Puyallup Spring Fair.
