REPEATED POST:
March Gladness at "The Grove"
History of March Gladness
In February of 2005, Communities In Schools of Puyallup (CISP) responded to a pressing community need by agreeing to coordinate a joint Tsunami relief project with the Puyallup School District and faith-community leaders. The effort was a tremendous success. Students and community leaders helped set ideas in motion and make results happen. As CISPs role in the tragic events unfolded, school, faith, and community leaders met again and decided that the best follow-up to the success of the project was to involve student leadership and create a menu of wide-ranging public service projects for the Spring semester now known as March Gladness.

Why March Gladness? It's a way to engage in local community service while fostering the following: solve problems, strengthen communities, improve lives, connect to others, transform our own lives.

The Best Talents Are Found at "The Grove"

Firgrove's Talent Show coordinated by our very own Kaarin Vail and PTA's/Co-op's Kimberly Shipman was a success! Additional special thank you goes out to the Masters of Ceremony, Jim Morford and Brian Wells, and our Master of Lights, Angelo Mills. Send any picture from last Friday's Talent Show if you have any that I can post in our staff blog. I will also forward them to Karen Gonderman for our school's website.

Reminder of the Week: Spring time and Spring Break is fast approaching. This is typically coupled with behavior escalation for a number of our students. Please go over behavior expectations. We've observed a class "practicing" how to line-up during their own recess time because the teacher wanted to reinforce the importance of following that expectation. This is also the most critical time when consistency of behavior expectation enforcement is important. We're sure you won't be surprised if we share that four full days of last week was spent on discipline all the way up to dismissal time. Friday was the "mildest" day with a total of 7 referrals.

THIS WEEK:
Staff Clean-up Crew (3/7-11): Megan, Kaarin
